Andre Vacheresse

Andre Vacheresse , born with Roanne in 1927, and dead in July 2000, was player then trainer of the French club of Basket-ball of the Chorale Roanne Basket.

Biography

André Vacheresse was the man of only one club: the Choral society Roanne Tennis shoe. Player of 1942 to 1962 it was also to manage, then trainer of 1977 to 1980. But it was also a solid pillar of the team of France from which it carried 92 times the tricolor shirt, of which number with the role of captain. It took part in particular in the Championships of Europe to Cairo in 1949 (2°), in Paris in 1951 (3°), and Moscow in 1953 (3°). With the Championships of the World in Buenos Aires in 1950, as captain and with Marcelot (6°), and with the Olympic Games of Helsinki in 1952 (8°) It used then its address to still shine on all the bowling pitches, particularly with the Merry Ball of Roanne of which he was president. Its memory will remain in Roanne since the Town of Roanne gave its name to the Market of the Sports in January 2001, six months after its death.
