Alphonse Balleydier
The baron Alphonse Victor Chrétien Balleydier is a man of letters, historian and Historiographe French.
Born with Lyon the January 15th 1810 and died the November 10th 1859 without posterity.
Wire of Gaspard Prosper Balleydier (1781 -?) and Melanie Antoinette de Hell (1786 - 1861), sister of Anne Chrétien Louis de Hell, Rear-admiral and governor of the Island Bourbon, whose personality will work its youths, it is resulting from a middle-class family of Savoyard origin.
Probably influenced by opposite engagements of his/her cousins César Balleydier Napoleonean officer killed in the combat and Jean-Louis Balleydier lawyer royalist guillotine, it makes known its ideas while collaborating in many preserving newspapers.
He is the author of works generally inspired by a feeling of the social order and policy:

- " Political history and soldier of the people of Lyon during the Revolution française" published in 1846,
- " Rome and Pie IX" in 1847,
- " History of the mobile guard since the barricades of février" in 1848,
- " Turin and Charles-Albert" in 1848,
- " History of the guard républicaine" in 1848,
- " God does not want it or the revolutionists painted by them-mêmes" in 1849,
- " History of the revolution of Rome" in 1851,
- " History of the revolutions of the empire of Autriche" published in 1853,
- " History of the war of Hongrie" also in 1853,
- " History of the Nicolas" emperor; in 1857,
- " Valeria or first Christians and others histoires" , published after its death in 1890.
It had prepared a publication on the women during the Terreur, intended to show examples of Héroïsme, publication which was not born.
It is of advantage known for its " Political history and soldier of the people of Lyon during the Revolution française" and its " History of the revolution of Rome" , several republished times.
Its " History of the revolutions of the empire of Autriche" and its " History of the war of Hongrie" both published into 1853 always make authority today. These two works were worth to him the titles of Freiherr (Baron) and of historiographer of the Emperor of Austria.
Moreover, he worked much for the Bookstore of Education for which he wrote novels, collections of news and accounts, like famous Veillées of family, Veillées of holidays, military Veillées, Veillées of the people, Veillées maritime, etc, which had a great success at the time.
