Allan Carr of its true name Allan Solomon (° May 27th 1937 with Chicago, Illinois - † June 29th 1999) was a Producteur of cinema and manager of actors and musicians.
Carr began its career as assistant with Playboy Magazine with Hugh Hefner. It gradually acquired a real reputation as an organizer of promotional shows and other " fiestas".
In 1977, the producer Robert Stigwood engaged it for the promotional countryside of Saturday Night Fever ( the fever of Saturday evening ). Its success was such as Stigwood re-enlisted it for Grease in 1978. They worked then jointly on various films which obtained a success more mitigated, in comparison with the first.
Carr received a Tony Award in 1984 for its production of the Cage with insane the with the Theater of Broadway.
Its reputation to give expensive and sumptuous festivals and to create spectacular productions led the organizers of the 61éme edition of the Oscars of the American Film to urge it to put it in scene while being based on the promise which one was going to return from the tedious spectacles and without interest of the previous years.
In front of being " the antithesis of the médiocrité" , it is in fact proven a catastrophe which culminated with sadly celebrates pairing of Blanche Snow, played by Eileen Bowman and Rob Lowe singing " Proud Mary ". The show was an object of rized, considered as one of the worst events of the history of the Oscars and television. To add some, the company Walt Disney intentat a lawsuit for " illegal use of the image of White-neige". Its reputation was definitively broken. He worked never again with Hollywood. At the time of its death, it was employed with Brentwood, California.
He died the June 29th 1999 of a Cancer of the liver to Beverly Hills, California. He was 62 years old.
