Alice Guy

Alice Guy Blaché (July 1st 1873 with Paris - March 24th 1968 in the New Jersey) was one of the pionnières of the Cinéma, and the first Réalisatrice of the world. She was the woman of the Réalisateur Herbert Blaché, with which she had two children, Réginald and Simone. She is also the creative one of Solax Film Co. in 1910, a company of Production.

Biography

French career

American career

It settles with the the United States and founds two companies of Cinéma in 1910, the Solax Company and the Film Supply Company , which produces films of Charles Chaplin. It turns of the Film S of various kinds (Western sentimental S, films, Fantastique S, Policier S,…) with recurring Actor S: Darwin Karr, White Cornwall, Lee Beggs, Billy Quirk,… success enables them to invest in a more advanced technology and to create a Fort studio Lee (New Jersey), which becomes the capital of the Cinéma in studio. The Metro Goldwyn Mayer distributes its films until in 1918. She divorces in 1917 and works for William Randolph Hearst before returning to France in 1922. She had turned more 600 films . In 1953, it receives the Légion of honor. The French Cinémathèque pays homage in 1957 to him. She dies in 1968 with the the United States where she was turned over near her daughter.
