Alexeï Orlov
The count Alexeï Fiodorovitch Orlov was the commander of the Russian Naval forces. He took part, with his brother Grigori Orlov, with the plot against Pierre III of Russia, in 1762 (can be strangled by Alexeï Orlov in mysterious circumstances).
It was a man athletic and skilful, respected and fears by its adversaries, like the Turks, beaten in 1770 at the time of a naval action, under its command, which enabled him to occupy the Greek archipelagoes. For this exploit, it accepted, in 1774, several titles honorary of which the privilege to carry, on its blazon, the imperial weapons.
The Count Orlov was tall impassioned horses and of breeding; in 1777, it crosses its Arab standard with a Flemish mare and thus obtains a foal that it names Polkan.
This one crossed in its turn, with a black Flemish mare, gives rise to Bars I, which one regards as the founder of the race Trotteur Orlov.
