Aleksa Jovanović

Aleksa Jovanović , in Serbe Cyrillique АлексаЈовановић (born with Ćuprija the August 31st 1846 - died with Belgrade the May 6th 1920) was a Juriste and a Serb Politician . He was Minister and President of the Council of the Royaume of Serbia.

Aleksa Jovanović went to the elementary school of Negotin. It followed then its secondary studies to Belgrade, then it studied with the Faculty of Law of the capital.

He was then lawyer with Kragujevac, with Kraljevo then with the Ministry for Justice in Belgrade.

Of 1874 with 1878, he was judge with the courts of Smederevo and Kruševac, then president of court with Niš then in Belgrade.

Of 1884 with 1890, he was member of the Court of justice.

Of 1890 with 1894, Aleksa Jovanović was department head with the Ministry for Justice, then, of 1894 with 1899, again member of the Court of justice. In June 1899, he became President of the Court of Appeal.

July 25th 1900 with the April 3rd 1901, he was the Prime Minister for the king Alexandre Ier. He exerted at the same time the function of Foreign Minister then that of Minister for Justice.

In September 1901, it was named with the Council of State.

Aleksa Jovanović was also the author of many articles and works, in the fields of the right, the history and the literature. In 1900, it published its Contributions to the history of the right in Serbia and, in 1906, the Ministry of Aleksa Jovanović .
