Alain Fillola

Alain Fillola is mayor of Balma since 1995 and General adviser of Haute-Garonne.

He is born on January 14th 1949 with Saint-Bosoms (Ariège), Spanish republican parents, political refugees in France at the end of the war of Spain.

Married to Genevieve Barat, native of Balma, the couple has three children.

Qualified engineer of the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of Electrical engineering, Electronics, Data processing and Hydraulics (ENSEEIHT) of Toulouse.

He was successively engineer in private industry, then with Électricité de France, operations manager of the Ministry for Research and Technology and finally Managing director of a company of Engineering until 2001. He stops his professional path in December 2001 in order to devote himself completely has his public mandates.

Member of the Socialist party since 1973, it is city council man of 1983 to 1995, and temporary Senator of the Haute-Garonne, of 1989 to 1998. He is elected mayor of Balma at the time of the municipal elections of June 1995 and is re-elected in March 2001. It is on this same date that he is elected General adviser Haute-Garonne, on the canton of Toulouse 8. It is, the General advice, chair 2nd commission. He is also Vice-président of the Communauté of agglomeration of Large Toulouse and President of the commission of the Bases of leisures.
