Alain Canhiart
Alain Canhiart , count of Cornwall of 1029 with 1058, buried with Quimperlé.
He is the son of Benoit or Benedic, died between 1008 and 1029 - count and bishop of Cornwall, since he was elected with the episcopal see of Quimper towards 990 -, and of Guigodeon, itself girl of Orscand the Large one, bishop of Vannes.
With died his father, Alain Canhiart inherits the county of Cornwall while his/her brother Orscand becomes bishop of Quimper in his turn. Alain Canhiart is the founder before 1050 of the Abbaye Holy-Cross of Quimperlé.
Towards 1026, it marries Judith, heiress of the county of Nantes, which returns to this one to dead of its nephew, the count Mathias I {{er}} of Nantes.
The couple has at least six children:
- Hoël, count de Nantes, of Cornwall and Rennes, duke of Brittany;
- Guérech (or Quiriac) (1030 - 1079), bishop elected of Nantes in 1059, devoted the January 7th 1061;
- Budic, died in 1091;
- Hodiern, abbess of Locmaria of Quimper;
- Benoit, abbot of the Holy-Cross Abbey of Quimperlé in 1066, bishop elected of Nantes in 1079, devoted in 1081, withdraws in 1114 and dies in 1115;
- Agnes, wife of Éon I {{er}} of Penthièvre.
