Aksai Chin
The Aksai Chin is an area located at the junction of the Tibet, Pakistan, and India. It is one of the two areas - the other being the Arunachal Pradesh - whose India and China claim sovereignty.
Aksai Chin, located in the disputed territory of the Cashmere - is currently under administration of the Popular republic of China and includes/understands the zone occupied by the RPC during the Guerre sino-Indian of 1962. A small portion was given to Beijing by Pakistan. The sector is of a major strategic importance because crossed by the China National Highway 219 which connects Tibet and the Xinjiang.
The two Indian and Chinese adversaries agreed to respect the Line of control and this conflict is regarded as far from likely to lead to real hostilities.
