Akira Yamaoka
Akira Yamaoka (山岡晃, Yamaoka Akira ) is a type-setter of sounds and musics of Video game Japanese.
Biography
It was born on February 6th 1968 with Niigata with the Japan. It does not engage from the beginning in a musical career, it is only after having made the Art schools Of Tokyo that it joined Konami on September 21st 1993.After having composed some musics of plays Megadrive and Famicom, it is in 1999 responsible for the sounds and the musics of the play of horror Playstation Silent Hill. Akira in this play creates a sound disturbing and glaucous universe but especially wanting to be original and surprising. Akira likes to have fun to make fear with the player, it creates sound effects which stimulate our imagination of share their strangeness, and evoke things even more horrible than those present at the screen. Akira Yamaoka also says to seek to create sound effects which seem to emanate from the interior of our body. One can see there a parallel with one of the characteristic of the fictitious city giving his name to the play which materializes the interior demons of the characters the occupant. An important part of its perforated musical are background musics stripped of strange melody but made up of noises creating an oppressive atmosphere; But although like it Akira Yamaoka says the music is not that melody it creates some also, in particular musical topics enough rock'n'roll sometimes sung. These sad melodies posed on strong rates/rhythms have the characteristic to be more than simple topics of play. Indeed the words melancholic persons of the songs often carry in them one of the hidden significances of the play (for example Room off Angel of Silent Hill 4: The Room)
Starting from Silent Hill 3 it becomes Game Producer of the series and thus contributes in addition to the sound part to other aspects of the series of which the scenario.
He is also the type-setter of the film adaptation of Silent Hill carried out by French Christophe Gans in whom one will find some of the melodies of the series.
In January 2006 left its 1st album solo: IFuturelist.
