Aka moon

Aka Moon is a Belgian group of Jazz.

Aka Moon was created with beginning of the year 90. They already made recordings with artists such as David Gilmore, Sivaraman (counted) or Umaya Epuram K. the musicians of Aka Moon are recognized to practice a rich music, influenced by their voyages around the world.

Many “exotic” collaborations, in particular with the Pygmies of central Africa (from where the group draws its name besides), or of the Indian percussionnists, are present in their discography (a dozen albums).

Their music is very influenced by that of Steve Coleman, in particular with regard to the Polyrythmie.
