The airport Toulouse Blagnac is a French airport located on the commune of Blagnac, in the North-West of Toulouse, department of the Haute-Garonne area the Midday-Pyrenees.
Geographical location
The airport Toulouse Blagnac is located at 8 km in the North-West of Toulouse. It is built on the historical site of the aerodrome of Blagnac at an altitude of 152 meters. In the South, the barrier of the Pyrenees is visible while in North and the North-East is spread out the town of Toulouse and its suburbs. In South-east, the the Garonne runs along a plate whose culminating point is the hillock of Pech David, site privileged to observe the landing or the takeoff of the planes in the axis of the tracks of the airport.The climate of the airport is a soft moderate climate of autumn in spring and enough heat and dryness in summer. The dominant winds are, by order of importance, the wind of west, the wind of south-east (also called wind of southerly wind, rather hot and dry) and the wind of north, definitely less frequent and generally cold and dryness. The tracks are thus directed North-western in South-east.

History
Created around an industrial pole created in 1939, the airport of Toulouse, the site accommodated the civil aviation as from 1945, in wood hutments. The first air terminal goes back to 1953.The Toulouse-Blagnac airport is managed by the Chamber of commerce and of industry of Toulouse within the framework of a convention of concession authorized by the State until 2008.
Traffic
The airport of Toulouse-Blagnac is the 4th airport of province with 5.956.552 passengers in 2006 (instead of 5.612.559 passengers in 2004 and 5.799.108 in 2005, that is to say a rise of 2.71%/2005) behind Nice, Lyon and Marseilles. It is however the first platform of freight of province with 58.720 tons treated in 2006 is +4,1%/2005.The Toulouse line - Orly was in 2006 the first line of France in term of passengers with 2.439.429, all confused lines (in front of Nice-Orly).
The number of movements of planes was stable in 2006 with 79.964 commercial movements (+ 0,8%).

The airport is spread out over 780 ha of ground over the commune of Blagnac. The capacity of reception of the air terminal is of 6,2 million passengers for an opening 24 hours a day. It is cut out in 3 halls of which entire surface is of 61.000 m ² out of two stages:

Connections of public transport
It is possible to go to the airport Toulouse Blagnac via the public transport. A shuttle managed by Tisséo makes it possible to connect the Gare Matabiau and the airport.
A shuttle spends every 20 minutes (of the Monday to Sunday) to the stops: Compans-Cafarelli, Jeanne d' Arc, Jean Jaurès and the Station Matabiau. There exists a young tariff for less than 25 years and the return ticket is much less expensive than two one-way tickets.
Road links
Access by the exit of the autouroute A621 which sails round Toulouse by the West is the axis of access principal from Toulouse. Then the Trunk road 124 in direction of Auch followed secondary road 902 give access the Aérogare.
