Agustín García Calvo
Agustín García Calvo is a Philologue and Libre-penseur Spanish born with Zamora on October 15th 1926.
It made studies of traditional Philologie at the University of Salamanque where it obtained its doctorate with a thesis on " Prosody and metric of the traditional Latin ". In 1951, it passed its assistance of full professor of college of Latin-Greek. Then in 1953, it was University lecturer at the University of Seville, and, in 1964, it became it Complutense University of Madrid. In 1965, the students express massively against the dictatorship of the General Franco. Agustin Garcia Calvo takes party for the students publicly, with other University lecturers of the same University, in particular Enrique Tierno Galván which will become mayor of Madrid after the restoration of the democracy and also José-Shine López Aranguren, professor of ethics. All three were seen expelling University like reprisals in their support with the anti-pro-Franco students. Without work, without passport and tracked by the police force, Agustín García Calvo clandestinely passed the border close to Coustouges, according to the same borrowed road in 1939 by thousands of Spaniards who had exiled themselves in France after the defeat of the army of the II Spanish République.
In France he worked like Traducteur for the publisher Ruedo Ibérico before being a professor at the University of Lille. Then he was professor with the Collège de France where he made course for hispanists. With Paris, with the Latin Quarter it assiduously held a political meeting in which everyone could take part. In 1976, after the fall of the pro-Franco Mode, it recovers its pulpit at the University of Madrid, where there remains professor up to 1992, date on which he took his retirement, but preserving the right to make course there, because he was named professor emeritus.
He was member of the " Círculo Lingüístico de Madrid" which took part also Rafael Sánchez Ferlosio, Libre-penseur and writer.
Agustín García Calvo made important contributions to the general Linguistique, prehistoric linguistics, European linguistics, graeco-latin and the study of contemporary Spanish. Its téorie general on the language is exposed in its trilogy General Théorie of the Language , Of the origins of the language and Of the structure of the language .

Like poet, it published inter alia El Sermón de Ser O No Ser , philosophical poem, which in are already with its 7th edition at the beginning of XXIe century, Del Tren and Libro de Conjuros
He is also the author of several dramatic parts, such as for example Iliupersis , musical comedy, and Baraja del Rey Don Pedro .
He also published many criticisms on the contemporary company in various newspapers, like El País and Diario 16 , inter alia. One can quote Contra Democracia , Contra La Paz , Análisis of Sociedad del Bienestar
It currently animates a weekly political meeting with el Ateneo of Madrid.
The poems of Agustín García Calvo were put in music by the singers Amancio Prada, Chicho Sánchez Ferlosio and Ciento Volando .
