Adriaen van Ostade

Adriaen van Ostade (1610 - 1685, born under the name of Adriaen Hendricx ) was a Dutch painter.

He was the oldest son of Jan Hendricx Ostade, originating in the town of Ostade close to Eindhoven. Although Adriaen and its Isaac brother were born with Haarlem, they adopted " van Ostade" like name of painters.

According to Jacobus Houbraken, it received from 1627 of the lessons of Frans Hals, then the Master of Adriaen Brouwer and Jan Miense Molenaer. At twenty-six years, it enters a company of civil guards of Harlem; it Marie at twenty-eight years.
