Adolphe-Frederic V of Mecklembourg-Strelitz (in German Adolf-Friedrich V von Mecklenburg-Strelitz), born the July 22nd 1848 with Neustrelitz, deceased the June 11th 1914 with Berlin.
He was large-duke of Mecklembourg-Strelitz of 1904 with 1914, general of cavalry in the Prussian army.

Marriage and descent
The April 17th 1877, Adolphe-Frederic V of Mecklembourg-Strelitz married Elisabeth d' Anhalt (deceased in 1933), (girl of the duke Frederic d' Anhalt).
Four children were born from this union:

Marie de Mecklembourg-Strelitz (1878 - 1918), in 1899 it married the count Georges von Jamatel (divorced in 1908). In 1914, it married prince Jules de Lippe (deceased in 1952)

Biography
Adolphe-Frederic V of Mecklembourg-Strelitz took part in the war free-Prussian (1870), in 1871, with Versailles, it represented his father at the time of the proclamation of Guillaume Ier of Prussia as emperor of Germany. He succeeded his father the May 30th 1904. He was the cousin of Marie de Teck (the wife of Georges V of the United Kingdom).
His/her mother, the large-duchess douirière of Mecklembourg-Sterlitz was outraged by the militarist behavior of her son. She wrote with her niece, Marie de Teck: “Strelitz which forever be a military State, lives suddenly with the sounds of the fifres and the drums… such a pity, a bad imitation of Schwerin and small Courses German, while we were a Court of civil gentlemen!”
Adolphe-Frederic V of Mecklembourg-Strelitz died with Berlin the June 11th 1914, his son Adolphe-Frederic VI succeeded to him.
