Adolfo of Huerta
Adolfo of Huerta (* Hermosillo, May 26th 1881 - † Mexico City, July 9th 1955) was President of Mexico temporarily in 1920.
Biography
He studies with the Colegio de Sonora in his birthplace then with the Escuela Nacional Preparatoria of Mexico City; according to courses of accountancy, of music and song. Accountancy because it is necessary well to live, the music and the song by passion, it dreams to become singer of opera.In 1900, become orphan, it is established with Guaymas, where it occupies various professions, collaborator of a bookstore, bank clerk, professor of song and director of a tannery. In 1908, it is registered with the Partido Antirreeleccionista (Left anti-réélectioniste), of which it is representing it in Guaymas then it goes to the center country to take share in the countryside in favor of Francisco Madero.
In May 1920, the president Carranza flees the revolt of Sonora. The rebellious army of Álvaro Obregón seizes Mexico City, Adolfo of Huerta is named provisional president. Its mandate lasts until December of the same year.
He becomes Minister for Finance and in 1922 negotiates with the representatives of the the United States the resumption of the payment of the Mexican debts. That makes it possible to stop the protests of the American tankers and satisfies the bankers of Wall Street.
He resigns of his mandate of minister in September 1923 and enters in dissidence in December against the general Plutarco Elías Calles candidate to the succession of Álvaro Obregón.
