Definition

A adhesive tape is a Ruban covered with adhesive substance . It is generally appeared as a roller whose external face is nonadhesive and is used in particular to attach objects between them or simply to cover an object with a protective film.

History

The adhesive tape is invented in 1925 by American Dick Drew. It is first of all used in auto industry under the name " of adhesive of marquage" to solve the problems of delimitations of the colors in the painting of the body. A few years later, the cellulose adhesive tape such as we know it today, makes its appearance. It is generally indicated under the term of " Scotch tape ".

Uses and types

There exist several types of ribbon, used for all kinds of work (joining, packing, assembly, filling…). One finds it in the trade in the form of roller most of the time.
