Adamantium
The Adamantium is an imaginary metal alloy used in many American cartoons (the Comic S of Marvel in particular), in certain roleplays (Donjons and dragons) or more recently in video games.
The name of this alloy is derived from the word adamant , meaning Diamant - whose pressure resistance is incredible.
In the Marvel comics
Origin
Its inventor is the Dr. Myron McClain. He conceived it mainly containing steel. He is malleable at the stage of manufacture but once cooled he is almost indestructible.
Alternatives of adamantium exist. For example the carbonadium is a malleable version even cooled and is used for it by super-unpleasant the Omega red.
Use
The adamantium is used in the design of many elements, objects or equipment which one wants to make indestructibles:
- claws and the skeleton of Wolverine (Serval).
- the spinal column of Bullseye.
- Certain bodies of robots of Ultron.
- claws and the skeleton of Teeth of Saber.
- the shield of Captain America is made of an alloy of adamantium and vibranium; Captain America of Ultimate Marvel uses a shield entirely made of adamantium.
- claws and skin of Cyber.
- claws and the skeleton of Lady Deathstrike.
- the telescopic stick of Gambit.
Various types of adamantium
Adamantium More - One knows only one object made up of adamantium more: the shield of Captain America. The manufacturing process of the shield is single and mysterious. A derivative of the vibranium Wakandan was used but of the molecular modifications were necessary to reach its final state. The principal quality of this shield is that it is completely indestructible.
True adamantium - the true adamantium is a secret creation of the US government, based on mixed chemical resins. Manufacture is extremely expensive, which makes it excessively rare. Its discovery is due to the attempts to copy the shield of Captain America, without using vibranium. Although it is less solid than the adamantium Plus, the true adamantium is sufficiently resistant to support an explosion of atomic bomb. To break it or simply to damage it, it is necessary to use very precise molecular rearrangements or an impact of an amazing force with an enchanted object as the hammer of Thor (which is composed of indestructible metal uru).
secondary Adamantium - As true adamantium, it is extremely difficult and very expensive to manufacture. Some found a means of duplicating it but with a reduced quality and a resistance. However, for an everyday usage, the secondary adamantium is regarded as indestructible. The conventional weapons, like the ballistic missiles, do not have any effect on him. It is more resistant than any steel but is damaged by blows given by people having a superhuman force or discharges of very powerful energies.
Carbonadium - the carbonadium is a metal much more resistant than steel and more flexible device that the adamantium. It is supposed that it is very close to this last or that it is an alternative. The carbonadium is not as resistant as true adamantium because of its malleability.
