Absolute power (psychology)
The absolute power indicates a Fantasme omnipotence, the belief of a To be able unlimited, magic.
Absolute power in the Obsessional neurosis
In the obsessional neurosis, the erotisation of the thought is supported of a belief in the magic thought. The psychic one is represented like holder of infinite possibilities, effector, in other words like having a influence on the outside world. This influence glorifie the Me, makes a surpuissant God of it, to only decide course of the things. There one attends a magic thought with the service of the illusion, reduction of the others with simple puppets, where the freedom of their desire puts in danger the will of control. The obsessional one wants all to control, on the mode of the anal stage. The anal stage would count, according to Karl Abraham, two phases: initially the stage in which the pleasure is well défécatoire, pleasure to expel the fécès, projection outside what is dirty and good. Whereas the anal stage specific to the obsessional neurotic is well that of the retention: the child learns cleanliness, it is educated to make excrement only at the convenient period. Ego defends oneself from its capacity to decide, to control the defecation, to remain clean as long as it wishes it.
There are thus several movements in this obsessional influence: that of the Me which protects, which makes act of Dénégation vis-a-vis its attraction for its excrements, which simply denies to want déféquer, which is constituted in opposition to this pleasure. But essence is well satisfaction nelle Pulsion of to retain , the excitation of the anal erotogenic zone in the act even not to eject the excrements, but to preserve them for oneself, to refuse them with others.
There is equation symbolic system Inconscient E: fécès = Gift. To retain itself to deliver the product of digestion, it is not to grant a gift. But the equation has others members :
Fécès = gift = child = Phallus.
Will for power
Friedrich Nietzsche theorized the will of any power like assertion of oneself, process to become without particular justification; it is thus a philosophical concept of a tendency (seeking so often to justify itself) which will be used as point of anchoring with the theorization freudienne. The will for power is not a will of absolute power…
Absolute power and animism
Sigmund Freud reference mark, in Totem and taboo, magic absolute power, using ritual gestures, in the Animism. Each object is equipped with a heart and it becomes possible to play with nature, to communicate with the spirits in order to obtain tangible results.
Stages of any power according to Sándor Ferenczi
Ferenczi is pressed on the statute of the Fœtus. He thinks the situation of the fetus like inconditionnée absolute power, i.e. like permanent satisfaction of the impulse, she so thorough constant . The embryo would be unceasingly discharged from its desire. There would be thus phantasm to turn over in the maternal belly.Comes then, after the Naissance, the any hallucinatory power, automatic, that Freud also admits (see Experience of satisfaction). The reinvestment of the mnemic-trace, inscription of satisfaction, allows the formation of a Hallucination as satisfactory as the real act. The baby imagines téter and as much pleasure withdraws some than if it really tétait.
The third phase is that of absolute power using magic gestures. It is the magic spell-binding. The hallucination, functioning on the mode of the Pleasure principle, is not ready any more to provide as much satisfaction. The act in reality becomes necessary. But the infant can still have recourse to magic gestures: he shouts, cries, and his/her mother intervenes to bring that to him for of which ila need. It is besides this point which will make it possible Jacques Lacan to theorize the desire, the need and the request.
The last phase is that of the absolute power of the thoughts. The gestures, tears, cries, are disinvested of their importance, and the thought itself is seen erotized: it is the obsessional absolute power there.
Consequences of the absolute power
The absolute power like belief in the realization, in reality, of its desire, is not without consequences on the psychological development.
Absolute power and Depressive position
Melanie Klein announces the formation of the Me like Deuil making following a murder. Not with a real murder: the child phantasm whom it kills his mother, then is some stripped that which liked so much. It will thus be necessary for him to make the most difficult mourning, which will however enable him to work out a psychic principle in which the any power is not in force any more, in which there is separation of with the mother, finally recognized like having a clean life: like total Object.Donald Winnicott uses this point to work the passage of the Object-relationship, still not differentiated from the child, with the use of the object.
Absolute power and unconscious Culpability
Leaving side the problem complexes possibility of a unconscious Affect, one can have the unconscious culpability as the remorse which the neurotic allots by error to an act, whereas the culpability comes from another. This other act is very often only one phantasm: for only crime, the neurotic did nothing but think that it satisfied its desire, however terrible. The unconscious culpability will be a perilous test, being able to carry out the neurotic to really commit a crime, in order to bind the culpability to something, rather than to know what to reproach itself. It is Friedrich Nietzsche which already announced the existence of criminal per feeling of guilt .
Absolute power and symbolism
The word, it is the murder of the thing: thus the any power has for first consequence the possibility of the Symbole. The representation is significance of the object when the object is not there; it kills this real object. This point will allow the development of the paternal metaphor making occur the Noms of the Father.
