The live or livonien is a Langue pertaining to the connects fennic of the family of the Finno-ugric Langues. Formerly largely spoken in Livonie, the live one is threatened today of disappearance. In 2001, the full number of speakers was evaluated to forty people. But only eights of them had the live one like the native tongue, youngest having been born in 1926. The number of people being regarded as of Lives, without inevitably speaking the language, is approximately 230. The “native” speakers are concentrated in some villages located at the northern point of the peninsula of Courlande (in Latvia). The other people regarding itself as of Lives reside in majority in the towns of Rīga and Ventspils.
