A workshop in Batignolles
a workshop in Batignolles is a table of Henri Fantin-Latour paints into 1870 which immortalise protagonists of the Groupe of Batignolles. It belongs to the four tables of this painter who liked to represent in group the artistic personalities of his time.
Its setting in scene evokes the workshop of Manet and represents it sitted and painting with its with dimensions, sitting, Zacharie Astruc. Debouts from left to right, Otto Scholderer, Auguste Renoir, capped of a hat, Emile Zola, Main Edmond, Frederic Bazille and Claude Monet. One knows one carried of Zacharie Astruc by Manet, it is perhaps this episode which is represented.
The table is preserved today at the Musée of Orsay.
