Summary

A beach of the north of France, in winter, overpowered rain. A man settles in the hotel where the owner always employs kids of the Public assistance: the Marthe maidservant, for example. A character, doubtful arrives, shows the man of a crime, claims his share. Marthe tries to save the traveller because this one was formerly exploited in this hotel like child of the Assistance. The conclusion is morose like the protagonists and the rain continues to fall.
