A guy, a girl (French version)

a guy, a girl is a French Televised series in 486 episodes approximately six minutes, adapted by Isabelle Camus and Helene Jacques of the Sitcom éponyme Québécois and diffused between the October 11th 1999 and the October 16th 2003 on France 2 and repeated on France 4.

Synopsis

This mini series makes us divide the sections of the daily life of a couple the thirty year ones: Jean and Alexandra. The most banal situations (with the bed, in the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom…) with most exceptional (lost on a deserted island, with Hong-Kong, with the Mauritius, they separate, marry…), the life of Jean and Alexandra is far from being a long quiet river.

Each episode is a continuation of sketches. Each sketch is filmed from only one point of view, without movement of camera (However, there can be, but seldom). Often the whole of the episode is turned from the same point of view. The scenes are filmed so that only the face of the two main characters are visible. The actions of the characters are punctuated notes of musics, and the transitions between the sketches are done by means of musical commas pointing out the credits.

Characters

Main characters

Jean : is a Macho pretentious and proud. He hates as much to carry out the pieces of housework that his mother-in-law. He directs a small firm of Multimédia and earns his living well. He likes the evenings between pals. Terribly awkward in love, it however manages to dissolve his concubine since it manages to express its feelings, which are deeply sincere. He however misled Alexandra with his Isabelle assistant “on May 2nd, 1994, and time was cloudy”.

Alexandra is a light, hysterical woman on the edges, maniac and vain. She is a little jug and often ridicules herself in company. Very impulsive, she is irritated very quickly and the cries fuse quickly. Secretary, it does not make large thing of his days and spends more his day to the telephone with Jeannette that to fill of papers. It is very attached to her mother, to the great displeasure of Jean.

Recurring characters

Jean-Michel : the buddy of Jean, limited intellectually tending to encrust itself at those which invite it.
Isabelle : the splendid colleague of office of Jean, with whom it had an adventure, and of which Alexandra is maladivement jealous.
Sleeve-board and Roger : the couple of friends of Alexandra. They are rich and show it, which irritates Jean passably. Roger will leave Jeannette for Swedish 20 years. It will find a certain comfort at Jean-Michel.
Daniel : First husband of Sleeve-board
the mother-in-law : The mother of Alex, the mother-in-law in all her splendor; turned sour, jealous, yelling. She and Jean hate themselves.

Comments

a guy a girl impassioned crowd. Indeed, with more than 5 million faithful each evening before the newspaper of 20:00, turpitudes of Jean and Alex caused a true tidal wave in the French audiovisual landscape. Expressions of the couple such as “She irritates me! ”, “Yes”, “Come here” are included in the courses of school.

the series did not stop because of an erosion of the audience, but because the main actors were eager to explore other horizons (the Cinéma) and were afraid that by continuing the series, the public wearies their adventures.

After three last years to play the couple with the screen, Alexandra Lamy and Jean Dujardin linked their destinies in the real life with the autumn 2003, leaving their respective couple to lead a life of couple to the city as with the scene. They are defended to be influenced by the characters whom they incarnate, while admitting that a mutual professional admiration within the framework of the series brought them closer all the same.
