- August 10th: The Germanic Roman Emperor Otton Large the demolishes the Magyars (Hungarian) with the Bataille of Lechfeld close to Augsburg, with the army of the five duchies. Decimated during their retirement, they will not dare any more to take again their plunderings. Their chief Bulscu, captured, is hung like relaps with Ratisbon. This victory makes of Otton the champion of Christendom.
- Otton Ier, after its victory over the Hungarians reorganizes Austrian walk (Ostmark, unknown name with the Middle Ages) between the Enns and the Morava by populating it primarily the Bavarian one. It also reorganizes the Styrie, completely destroyed by the Hungarians, around the castle of Hongeist, and the Carinthie, which survived the invasions.
