September 28th: Beginning of the reign of Boleslav Ier the Cruel one, duke of Bohemia (fine in 967).

Saint Wenceslas of Bohemia recognizes the suzerainty of Henri the Bird-catcher, king de Germanie, causing the dissatisfaction with the noble ones. His/her brother Boleslav Ier goes up on the throne of Bohemia after having assassinated it. He founds the Czech state.

January 16th: Institution of the Caliphate of Cordoue by Abd Al-Rahman III, until now emirate of Cordoue. End of its reign in 961.
