  • the basileus Philippikos Bardanès transfers from the Armenians to Mélitène (current Malatya, in Turkey).

Asia

  • the Arab of Qutayba Ben Muslim reach Tachkent and the Ferghâna (712 - 714) whose king flees with Kachgar and beseeches the assistance of the Chinese.

  • the Arabs invade the Sind (711). A strong army, directed by Muhammad Ben Al-Qasim, walk until Debal, close to current the Karachi where it makes its junction with a fleet. The victory is acquired thanks to a catapult. King Brahmane of Sind, Rajah Dâhir, is overcome and killed with the battle of Raor in June.
    • Rajah Dâhir is the son of a usurper, the Chach Brahman, who had put an end to the Buddhist domination in Sind.

  • September 8th: Beginning of the reign of Xuanzong (Hiuan Tsong), emperor of China (fine in 756). The emperor Ruizong (Jouei-tsong) abdicates in favor of his son Li Length-ki who takes the name of Xuanzong.
    • Xuanzong eliminates the Wei, reorganizes finances and the census. The China knows its golden age during its reign: it makes repair the channels, build enormous silos, and organizes the borders militarily. The trade and the literature thrive.

  • Drafting of the Kojiki ( Accounts of the old things ), the oldest known book reporting the mythical history of the Japan.
