At the request of Oswiu de Northumbrie, the Irish monks of Iona regain a footing in the north of the England by creating the convent of the island of Lindisfarne (conversion of the Northumbrie to Christianity) then of Whitby in Mercie. The monastery of Lindisfarne becomes the religious capital of the kingdom of Northumbrie and the center of diffusion of the Celtic rites which submerge the Roman influence.
- Holy Aidan (death in 651), Irish monk of Iona, is devoted bishop of Northumbriens to Lindisfarne.
- the Bulgarian Kovrak, nephew of Gostun, after having émancipé its people of the Avars (630 -635) proclaims khan the Bulgarian ones. Héraclius gives him the title of Patrice.
