40e regiment of transmissions

The 40e regiment of transmissions is a unit of the Army French based with Thionville (the Moselle).

History

40e RT is created in 1969 with the Turenne District with Neustadt year der Weinstraße in Germany.
Belonging to the I {{Re}} armed until the fall with the Berlin Wall, of the 3 {{E}} army corps, then of the Brigade of Transmissions, it currently forms part of the brigade of transmissions and support to the command since the creation of the latter.

Mission in 2007

It is specialized in the communication to the standards NATO. Its missions are:

to implement the information systems and communication (SIC) of a headquarters interarmées of theater (in Europe)
to make the interface enters the systems of transmissions French and combined

to take part in the supply of the means RITA necessary to the deployment of the grid
of taking part in the missions of UNO and the changings of station overseas

It is equipped with the system developed RITA (Just Network of Automatic Transmissions). It implements nodes for the grid of the territory, of the stations SYRACUSE (System of Radio Communication Using a Satellite) and SICILY (Integrated system of Communication for the Light Interventions). It has a company of reserve.

The 40e regiment of transmissions is located in the District Jeanne d' Arc at Thionville like at the District Guyon Gellin at Hettange-Large, the current colonel is Sully Barbe. The 11th Company uses the Camp of Angevillers.
