Europe

  • August: Stilicon (general and politicking Roman) crushes an army of 200  000 Barbarians led by the king of the Goths Radagaise.

    • Victorious
    • in Fésules (Fiesole) with the assistance of the Huns of Uldin, Stilicon makes carry out Radagaise (August 23rd). The surviving Barbarians built-in the Roman army or are sold like slaves.
  • December 31st: Freezing of the Rhine.

    • Stilicon cannot contain the first infiltrations, facilitated by the freezing of the Rhine, of the Germains in Gaulle (Vandales, Suèves, Alains, Burgondes, come from the valley of the the Tisza and the Silesia, driven out by the Huns). The Francs, which defended the sector, are quickly made overflow by the number. Mainz, Cologne and the other fortified towns of the border is taken and put at bag. Some ones of the Barbares are fixed on the Rhine. The others devastate Gaulle during two years, then pass in Spain in 409 (Suèves, Vandales).
  • the majority of the Quades, driven out of Slovakia by the Huns, leave towards the West while uniting to the Vandales. The others remain on the spot until in 568 where they will join the Lombards to invade the Italy.

  • Attempts at invasion of the Ostrogoths in Italy (405 -406).
  • Aetius is hostage at the Visigoths (before 406) then at the Huns (after 406).
