321 diesel

More powerful than the 313, these machines are ordered in order to complete dieselization in Andalusia and Galicia and if required to begin it on other areas.

Design

The 2100 are machines of the model DLL 500 S (or standard FDP 9) of ALCO. They are equipped with an evolution of engine 251 B whose production stops in 1963 and of a case typically Spanish Bi-cabin, in order to avoid the problems encountered with the machines of the series 316 and 318. Service

The first arrived machines of the the United States are unloaded with Sestao, in the port of Bilbao, January 9th and 11th 1965. They are assigned at once to the deposit of Orense.
