- January 10th: Fall of the cabinet Ribot after the resignation of the Minister for Finance Maurice Rouvier (December 13rd 1892).
- Mars: Lawsuit of Panamá.
- March 30th: Resignation of the second cabinet Ribot.
- April 4th: Government Charles Dupuy (1).
- from June 18th to 25th: Visit of the president of the Republic, Sadi Carnot in Brittany.
- August 20th and September 3rd: Elections with the room. Success of moderate (311 seats for the line moderated against 58 for the traditional line). The Socialists make their appearance with the Room with 32 representatives (Jean Jaurès is elected). One notes 34% of abstentions related to the Scandale from Panama.
- October 3rd: Conference of Bangkok. The France adds the Laos to its Indochinese Union.
- December 3rd: Government Jean Casimir-Perier
- December 9th: The anarchistic Auguste Vaillant lance a bomb in the hemicycle of the French House of Commons to avenge the anarchist Ravachol, guillotine the July 11th 1892. Valiant will be guillotine later 2 months after the president Sadi Carnot had refused his grace.
- December 27th: The France and the Russia decide to act jointly in the event of war with Germany.

- France introduces the registration of the cars.

- F.C.M. (Football Club of Mulhouse) is founded.
