- May 8th: Creation by decree of the provisional districts of Assiniboia, of Saskatchewan, Alberta and Athabaska, which will become Saskatchewan and Alberta in 1905.

June 20th: John A. Macdonald (preserving) is re-elected with the federal elections.
- July 31st: Joseph-Alfred Mousseau (preserving) becomes Prime Minister with the Quebec to replace Joseph-Adolphe Chapleau.
