January

  • Tuesday January 4th: Fouquet buys the baronnie of Kaër.
  • January 15th: Great masked ball given by Fouquet in its hotel of Emery at the time of the carnival.
  • January 18th: D' Aligre, future chancellor, comes to claim his 4 million books to the Assemblée of the clergy.
  • January 20th: Molière, from now on, has its clean theater in the Palais Royal.
  • January 24th: At the exit of the Council, Basile Fouquet challenges his brother. Dispute enters the two brothers.

February

March

  • Tuesday the 1st er March: Marriage of Hortense to the son of the marshal of Meilleraye, " with it avoit given much good, to carry its name and its weapons, and it is called the duke of Mazarin." (Miss)
  • March 3rd:
    • Royal decree ordering the arrest of Retz.
    • Mazarin receives the Viatique.
  • 3 - March 7th: with 9:00 of the morning, will of Mazarin, foundation of the College of the Four-Nations for the education of sixty noble young people of the recently annexed provinces (Alsace, Pignerol, Artois, Roussillon). Vau will build what is today the Institut of France.
