- Tibet : After Mongolian raids on the troops of the Tsang close to Lhassa, those evacuate the area. The discovery of the fifth Dalai Lama is revealed and the child established with the monastery of Drepung.

the Persian Shah Abbas Ier Large the appendix Kandahar. Jahangir request with his/her son Khurram to take again the city, but this one refuses, fearing the intrigues of Nûr Jahân. - March 12th: The king affirms to rather give priority to the war against the huguenots than to intervene in Italy. He goes towards the the Vendée to the hands of Soubise (March 20th - April 16th). Royan is subjected after fifteen days of seat (May 11th).
- June 10th: Catch of Nègrepelisse and massacres its population.
- 20 - June 22nd: Catch of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Valley.
- July 24th: Lesdiguières abjures Protestantism. It becomes Connétable of France
- July - August: Threats of Mansfeld on the Champagne.

- October 18th: Edict of pacification of Montpellier: the Protestants keep only two strengthened cities: La Rochelle and Montauban.

- 6 - December 20th: Creation with Lyon by the council of the king of a league linking France, the Savoy, Venice and the Protestants Swiss S.

March 12th: Canonization of Ignace de Loyola, François Xavier, Therese d' Avila, Philippe Néri and Isidore the Plowman by the Pope Gregoire XV.
- June 22nd: The pope founds the Congrégation '' propaganda fide '', for the coordination of work missionary.
- June 30th: Edmond Richer sign the retractation of its work Of ecclesiastica and politica potestate libellus published in 1611, retractation whose Richelieu will require the confirmation later seven years. Richer persists however in its theses and, if it does not publish any more, it continues to write and defend its opinions. Its partisans will make publish some of its texts after its death.
