- June 22nd: a second group of English colonists tries to settle in the Colonie of Roanoke deserted, in North Carolina.
- Forwarding of John Davis with the research of the Passage of the North-West. It goes up the strait which bears its name by seeking a passage to the north of America. It reaches the limit of the ices by 72°N.

- the tribes cannibals Zimba, come from the Zambezi, attack Kiloa (Tanzania) with reverse and massacre the majority of its inhabitants. Then Zimba go up towards north while skirting the coast of Eastern Africa and destroy all that they find on their passage.

- August 19th, Poland - Lithuania: Sigismond III, wire of Jean Vasa and Catherine Jagellon, is elected king thanks to Jan Zamoyski, with the detriment of the Habsbourg (beginning of the dynasty of the Vasa, end of reign in 1632).
