Africa

  • January 21st: Construction of the castle of Saõ Jorge to Elmina in Guinea, of which all the elements are transported of Lisbon. It confirms the Portuguese monopoly on the trade of Black Africa (Or). The Portuguese colonize the Côte of Gold (Ghana) in Africa.
