Asia

  • Qaïdu attacks the Mongolia. Kubilai Khan sends its best general to him, Bayan, which succeeds has to beat the coalition of the Mongolian princes revolted with a many army and Chinese and Korean auxiliary troops. Qaïdu is withdrawn in the area of the Irtych.
  • Taken Canton by the Mongolian . The last Song, a 8 year old child, succeeds in fleeing on a squadron protected by Tchang Che-kie.

  • Battle of Ngasaunggyan, with the Yunnan. Mongolian forwardings in Burma (fine in 1300). They occupy the passage of Bhamo which opens to them the way of the valley of the Irrawaddy. The north of the country becomes Mongolian protectorate.

The Middle East

  • May 12th: Mehmed, bey of Karaman (Cilicie) seizes Konya in the name of the Saljûqides.
  • the Mamelouk S gain the victory over the Mongolian S in Asia Mineure.
    • the governor Saljûqide of Sinope, Mu' in Aldine Suleyman tries independence compared to the Mongolian . It calls Baybars in Anatolia. This one beats the Mongols with Elbistan, then advances towards Kayseri, but disappointed in front of the passivity of the Turks, it is folded up on Egypt. Driven' in Aldine is condemned to died for high treason by the Mongols who repress the revolt. The Anatolia passes under the protectorate of it-qan of Iran and the autonomy of the tribes Turkmènes is reinforced.
  • July 1st: The sultan Baybars dies poisoned in Damas. To its death, its kingdom extends from the Nubie (conquest of the Royaume of Dongola, vassal of the Egypt) to the the Mediterranean and from the desert of Libya at the border of the Iraq. Its authority is also recognized in Arabia. His/her oldest son, Luck Khan, succeeds to him without difficulties but must give up two years later the capacity in favor of sound very young brother Salamish.
  • Charles Ier of Anjou buys the Royaume of Jerusalem (fine in 1285). The authorities of Holy Land are divided between partisans of the kings of Cyprus and Charles of Anjou. Any common policy is made impossible.

Europe

  • January 21st: Battle of Desio. Ottone Visconti, archbishop of Milan, overcomes the dominant family Della Torre and seizes the capacity de facto with Milan. It founds the dynasty of the Visconti.
  • November 25th: Beginning of the Pontificate of Nicolas III (until in 1281). It leads Charles Ier of Anjou to give up under senator de Rome and the load of vicar of empire in Toscane.
  • Edouard Ier of England subjects the Wales (1277 - 1283): Llewelyn II must sign the treaty of Aberconway which fixed it with the England.

  • Reign of Ivaïlo, tsar of the Bulgarian (fine in 1279). It pushes back the Mongolian and the Byzantines.

  • Construction of the cathedral of Arezzo.

  • Beginning of the construction of the Cathedral of Rodez (until in 1550).
  • the king Edouard Ier of England undertakes a construction schedule of many castles to the Wales.

Economy & company

  • the monks Cistercien S clear and extend the field of the Burgundian Vignoble (Chablis, Pommard, Meursault).
