- May: Departure of the Second crusade ordered by the Pope Eugene III, to reconquer Jerusalem (fine in 1149).
- October 25th: Second battle of Dorylée. Many crusaders, led by the Germanic emperor Conrad III and the king of France Louis VII, break on the Asia Mineure with the autumn. Mas' ud Ier, wire of Kilij Arslan, tightens to them a series of ambushes around Dorylée. They lose many men.
