- Reign of Oumé, king of Kanem (fine in 1097).
- king Oumé of the Kanem (Chad) originating in the Tibesti, converts with the Islam, which supports the relations of Kanem with the other Moslem countries. This dynasty of origin Tibou (or Téda) extends its authority on the people of the Kaouar, the Bornou and Tibesti. Njimi, the capital, quickly takes importance and Moslem scientists come to the court from king Oumé.

- April 2nd: Sébut of the reign of Tche-tsong, emperor song of China.
- Regency of the empress dowager Kao. Disgrace of the reformists and return to the capacity of the conservatives directed by Sseu-my Kouang.
