- Trajan leaves Rome the March 25th, crosses the the Danube and enters the Banat in spring. It must go to the help of the lower troops of Mésie attacked by the Daces and their allies. Trajan is victorious with the Bataille of Tapae, on the southernmost Bistra, in Dobroudja (autumn). The meeting is not decisive.
- the king of the Daces Décébale has 200 000 men. The Roman army, reinforced during the second war, has 150 000 with 175 000 men. Forwarding was lengthily prepared: boring of a road through the mountain, digging of a channel to circumvent the falls of the the Danube (100-101), construction of a bridge on the river, twenty piles stone, length of 1,2 Km with Drobeta (103 - 105).
