In Italy, the town of Siris is destroyed by its neighbor Sybaris whom it competed with for the bearing in the Bruttium.
The Middle East
- Beginning of the reign of Cambyse II, Persian king of (fine in -523).
- Cyrus II is concealed at the time of a campaign against the Scythes. His/her son Cambyse II replaces it. After three years of fights, it makes assassinate his young brother Smerdis (or Bardiya).
- According to Hérodote, Tomyris, queen of the Massagètes (Scythian tribe evolving/moving between the Caspienne and the sea of Aral), would have refused to marry Cyrus which made him the war, removed his/her Spargapisès son who committed suicide. It, according to a tradition, would have captured Cyrus and drowned this one in blood. According to Xénophon, it would be free death in its capital Pasargades into -530.
- With died of Cyrus, the empire Achéménide extends from the Afghanistan to banks of the Aegean Sea and the the Caucasus until the Arabia. Only the Cilicie form still an independent kingdom.
