Émancipée school

The émancipée École (EE) is at the same time a review and a historical current of the Syndicalisme French teacher.

The émancipée School can be prevailed of the title of older running of the French trade unionism since it was created in 1910 like body of the federation of the members of the state education (FMEL) affiliated with the CGT and marked by the Anarcho-syndicalisme. The EE is considered close to the Extreme-left but it also attracted teaching militants (in particular of the movement Freinet).

From 1948 to 1992, it was the “3rd tendency” of FEN behind the autonomous majority (UID) and the members of the C.G.T. of Unité and action. In 1948, one of its militants, Marcel Valière, contributed with autonomous the Rene Bonissel to make pass the FEN in autonomy by writing the motion which refused to choose between CGT dominated by the Communists and the new confederation Working force.

During its history, the EE knew many scissions. Most important is undoubtedly that of after-68 which leads to the creation of the tendency “School émancipée for the working single face” (EE-FUO), which gathered the militants close to OCI of the time.

In 1993, at the time of the scission of the FEN, the EE mainly made the choice join the FSU. In some departments the militants of the EE preferred to remain with the FEN and to contribute to the construction of the Syndicat of the teachers which carried out their claim of single trade union of all the teachers.

In 2002 a scission led to the creation of the Émancipation - inter-union tendency.

The EE is currently present in the form of tendency in the FSU but the militants of the EE are distributed in many other trade unions (CUS Education, CGT, UNSA…).
